Benefit Providers

We want to make your experience to accessing counselling services as simple as possible, and thus, we try to direct bill for as many benefit providers as possible.

We are able to direct bill for fees for Registered Social Workers to the following benefit providers:

  • ASEBP (Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan)
  • Alberta Blue Cross
  • Cooperators
  • Equitable Life
  • Greenshield Canada
  • Nexgen Rx
  • SSQ Insurance

We are able to direct bill for fees for Registered Psychologists or Registered Provisional Psychologists to the following benefit providers:

  • ASEBP (Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan)
  • Alberta Blue Cross
  • Chambers of Commerce
  • CINUP
  • Cooperators
  • Equitable Life
  • First Canadian Insurance (Johnston Group)
  • Great- West Life
  • Greenshield Canada
  • Group Health
  • Group Source
  • Industrial Alliance
  • Manion
  • Maximum Benefit
  • Nexgen Rx
  • SSQ Insurance

Unfortunately, the following benefit providers do not allow direct billing for counselling services:

  • Cowan
  • Claim Secure
  • Desjardins Insurance
  • Johnson Inc.
  • Manulife Financial
  • Sun Life Financial

If you are covered by a benefit provider that is not on one of these lists, please email us at website@crossroadscounselling.ca and ask us to inquire with that particular insurance company about direct billing.

Employee Assistance Plans (EAPs)

We currently provide counselling services for a few of the providers. You must contact your provider and they will contact us with the referral. If you want to see a counsellor at our site and your EAP provider indicates that we do not have a contract with them, please contact us at website@crossroadscounselling.ca and we will look into establishing a contract with them.

Other Organizations

In the event that another agency, a church, or a business (usually the referring party) is willing to cover the fees for a client, we are able to set up a charge account for that organization and bill them for the applicable fees once per month. Please contact the Executive Director at (403) 327-7080 to initiate this process.
