Crossroads Counselling - Help for when you need it most
Crossroads Counselling Centre Society was incorporated in 1986 and is a non-profit organization located in Lethbridge Alberta. As a non-profit agency, we are not privately owned by anyone but are governed by a Board of Directors. This means that our goal is not to make a profit on our services but to only cover all of the costs associated with delivery of our services.
First and foremost, we are a counselling agency that is committed to providing professional and effective counselling services to anyone regardless of their gender, age, race, socio-economic background, sexual orientation, religion and non-religion.
We meet people where they are at and aim to help them develop to their full potential by addressing the total person – psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual.
Secondly, we recognize that finances can be a tremendous barrier to accessing counselling therapy, and thus, we strive to remove these economic barriers for any individuals, couples, or families that want to access counselling services. This is accomplished with the use of subsidies, which are made possible through the generous donations of many Southern Alberta residents, businesses, and churches & through the ongoing support of FCSS Lethbridge.
Services
Mental health is a state of coping, feeling good, and being in control of your emotions and your life. However, there are everyday challenges, unexpected changes, and hurdles in life which can impact your ability to cope in certain situations. Work and home environment, financial situation, and relationships all affect our mental health. To add to this, many people fear they will be rejected or judged if they seek help. Although these feelings are common, covering up problems can make it difficult to live a full and healthy life. At Crossroads, our counsellors help clients learn to accept and understand their feelings. This awareness can be the first step toward becoming renewed, healed, and transformed.
Fees & Policies
Session fees are dependent upon the designation of the counsellor and range from $115 - $150 per hour. A counselling hour consists of 50 minutes of one-on-one therapy and 10 minutes for the counsellor to record confidential session notes for the clients file.
Note: While the fee recommended by the Psychologists Association of Alberta is $200 per session, we are doing what we can to keep our fees lower, and thus, our services more accessible to prospective clients.
If you are financially unable to cover these fees, please see our subsidy options.
Workshop fees vary and are dependent upon our source of funding for the program. Please see workshops for more specific details.
A helping hand
Struggles with traumatic pasts, broken relationships, poor physical health, loss of loved ones, abuse, mental health issues - to name just a few - are far more prevalent than many realize. When these issues are left unaddressed, other parts of the individual’s lives are usually affected and can easily create a domino effect that impacts not only the individual but also others that are in their circle of family, friends, coworkers etc. & often the society around them. This journey of life can be very difficult and none of us are exempt from experiencing these struggles. As a faith based agency, we are driven by a deep and Godly desire to do our part to help these precious people access the services that they need to begin their journey to healing and wholeness. We strive to achieve this goal by keeping our fees far below the recommendation for the province of Alberta and by offering subsidies that help cover the fees for those who qualify.
